Canada held its latest Express Entry draw on December 23rd, 2020.
A total of 5,000 invitations went to Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 468.
Mostly, IRCC holds Express Entry draws every two weeks. Canada issued invitations in every draw to a selected number of candidates who meet the CRS for the particular period. Candidates in these programs, as well as some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), are given a score based on the CRS. Points are awarded depending on a candidate’s human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.
Express Entry is Canada’s immigration application management system for three federal economic-class programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
During the draw, no specified program was mentioned as to the category of a class of candidates who received an invitation. Candidates from all Express Entry programs were eligible for this round of invitations.
In case of a tie between candidates, IRCC applies the tie-breaking rule. The tie-breaking rule was dated June 4, 2020, at 22:26:05 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Most French-speaking candidates are will be eligible for more CRS points in this draw. Recently, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that French-speaking candidates now get 25 additional points for their language skills, up from 15, and bilingual candidates will now get 50 points, up from 30.
