Canada Permanent Residence Program
On January 15, Ontario Nomination Immigration Program (ONIP) invited 954 Express Entry candidates through the province Human Capital stream category to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
These candidates were in the federal Express Entry pool and met the province stream’s eligibility requirements.
The OINP targeted candidates with a CRS between 460 and 472, and work experience in the following NOC codes:
- 2173 Software engineers and designers
- 2174 Computer programmer and interactive media developers
- 2147 Computer engineers
- 2175 Web designers and developers
- 2172 Database analysts and data administrators
- 0213 Computer and information systems managers
To be eligible for nomination, applicants must demonstrate work experience in one of the eligible NOC codes above.
An example of such a profile will be a 31 year- old individual with a master’s degree and 5 years’ experience, who has completed the academic evaluation report and has written the language requirement test with a score of 8 in (speaking, writing, reading and listening). This individual profile stage is selected and will now apply to the province to nominate them. When nominated they will receive 600 points and will be in line to receive an invitation from the Federal to apply to the permanent residence program.
These draws were created to help Ontario to meet the growing labour needs of the province’s tech sector.
