The province of Alberta provincial nomination program (AINP) contributes to the federal Immigration program by nominating applicant for permanent residency program. As of December 6th, 2019 the AINP has issued a total of 6,000 nomination certificates for 2019 for the different combination of programs the province introduced. This figure is the limit set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The Alberta Immigration Nomination Program (AINP) continues to assess applications in the queue; however, no further nomination certificates will be issued until January 2020.

Approximately 1,750 applications are await assessment for eligibility. The AINP has nominated applicants with Comprehensive Ranking System scores as low as 300.

Express Entry Nominees Appointed by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program get an extra 600 points towards their detailed Ranking System score, effectively assuring an invitation to permanent Resident

So to be considered for nomination by the province of Alberta, applicants should be eligible for one of the 3 national immigration applications handled by the Express Entry system

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Class
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Class
  3. Canadian Experience Class

Applicant should have profile in the Express Entry pool. Alberta is home to the cities of Edmonton and Calgary, which can be both favorite destinations for immigrants. Oil and gas production has long driven Alberta’s economics, but in most recent years the info technology, medical services along with other industries are gaining in prominence since the province’s government functions to diversify beyond energy.

Express Entry candidates should possess a CRS score of at least 300 and be working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities, among other standards, so as to be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent home from Alberta.

Though a job offer or previous work in Alberta isn’t necessary in order to be eligible, the AINP says applicants with a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta, a diploma from Canadian post-secondary institution and/or a parent, sibling or child already living in Alberta can be prioritized for an invitation to apply for provincial nomination.

The following factors might decrease the Probability of receiving a nomination from  the AINP:

  • Opportunity Stream section. That has a high quantity of submissions across all AINPs channels. Your Records Entrance profile expires in 3 months or not.
You’re working in a job: on the listing of wage and low wage occupations.
