Nova Scotia immigration targeted carpenters (NOC 7271) in a their second draw this month through the Express Entry system in the province Labour Market Priorities stream program.
On September 20, 22 candidates who are carpenters received Letters of Interest from the Nova Scotia Nominee Program in a draw .
The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) allow Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and who are interested in settling in a particular province.
Each Canadian province and territory (except Nunavut and Quebec) has its own unique Provincial Nominee Program. Each PNP has at least one immigration stream that is aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration selection system.
- The candidate selected in the carpentry profession must
- 1. Have a primary occupation of carpenter (NOC 7271)
- 2. Provide letters of reference from employers, as outlined in the application guide, to demonstrate that they have two or more years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter. (Self-employed individuals must provide documentation from 3rd parties indicating the service provided along with payment details. Self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable evidence of work experience.)
- 2. Have a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 5 or higher in English or French in all language abilities as demonstrated by providing your results from a language test approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
